Anna Rubio: Without the tree I’m a dead woman
Thursday, August 31st 2017, Suomenlinna Island
Without the tree I’m a dead woman, by Frontiers in Retreat artist Anna Rubio, was a movement work in a dialog with an old oak of Suomenlinna. The work developed during Rubio's residency in HIAP, and it aimed to synthesize the reflections included under the name All the trees I met, which began in 2013 with a performance in Festival Saó (Farrera, High Pyrenees) and continued until today in different environments - always with tree as a motive - from Catalonia, Latvia and Indonesia). In Suomenlinna, Anna Rubio performed together with musicians Vladimir Gabitov (contrabass), Arseny Yryev (violin) and Ivan Mihajlowskij (cello).
The event was part of Arts in the Environment - Nordic Symposium.
